The purpose of the Personnel Ministry Team is to address the staffing needs of the church and make recommendations regarding employees, job descriptions, and office procedures.

The objectives of the Personnel Ministry Team are to:

1)      Address and oversee staff transition and the need for new or additional employees, including initial interviews;

2)      Develop a policy for the relation of staff and the church with regard to sick leave, personal leave, vacation time, etc.;

3)      Define and direct the duties of staff by written job descriptions;

4)      Study and revise office procedures (and related issues with office equipment -- through the business management ministry team) to increase staff efficiency; and

5)      Periodically review the job performance of each employee.

The composition of the ministry team (in addition to the active elder serving as chair) is three at-large members of the church (who may or may not be active or inactive officers).  Because of the sensitive nature of the work done by this ministry team, the three at-large members are appointed by the session, to serve three-year terms (with one at-large member thus rotating from the team each year).  One year must elapse before an at-large member rotating off the ministry team may serve again as an at-large member.
