Hello, welcome to Faith Presbyterian Church
We have made this presentation to provide you with information about our church. We sincerely hope that you will use this opportunity to get to know us better and that you will attend our Inquirer's Class so that we may get to know you better. We want you to know that you are always welcome at Faith Presbyterian Church and that you will consider joining our church.
Faith Presbyterian Church conducts several Inquirer's Classes each year. These are the classes that prepare individuals (Inquirers) to become members of Faith. Each Inquirer's Class consists of four meetings with the Evangelism and Outreach Elders and Pastor. Each session deals with a specific topic: Session 1: What does it mean to be a member? This session provides the Inquirer with information about Faith and elicits information about the Inquirer so that we can get to know each other better.
Session 2: Beliefs. Since our membership comes from a variety of Christian denominations and the Inquirers frequently have different church backgrounds, this session explores some of the beliefs of the Christian church in general and the Presbyterian Church in specific.
Session 3: Church History and Government. This session traces some of the important history of the Christian Church and the Presbyterian Church. Since the Presbyterian Church is also among the Reformed Churches, this session discusses some of the attributes of these churches. Church Government is an important part of our life together, so this session also looks at the various forms of church government in general and the Presbyterian Church government.
Session 4: Mission, Ministry, and Stewardship. Faith Presbyterian Church is a mission church. We practice mission in our life together as well as stress its importance in our lives. Since we encourage individuals to use their time, talents, and treasure for service to the church of Jesus Christ, Faith practices these same principles as a church. This session looks at mission, ministry, and stewardship opportunities that are available at Faith.
We have included in this web site all of the material used in the Inquirer's Class. To view the material, click on the button "Inquirer Class Choices." You will be given a menue of options that will let you view the PowerPoint slides, a written narration that accompanies each slide, class handouts, and other information.
For additional information about the mission of the Evangelism and Outreach Ministry Team, select the button on the left labeled "E&O Ministry Team." You will be able to get information on how to become a member, a statement of some of our beliefs, what being a member means, and some of the responsibilities of the E&O Ministry Team.
