Evangelism and Outreach
As a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, you have already been a witness to the work of the Evangelism and Outreach ministry through your participation in the Inquirers' Classes. But that is just one facet of the exciting and rewarding work we do. If you enjoy meeting new people to further His word and ministries, this is just the place for you! If you prefer behind the scene work we need your help too! Reach out to the community with special event coordination and church literature development or help us dream up new events designed to reach out to the community with His word. These are some of the activities that the Evangelism and Outreach Elders:
New Members: Prepare Inquirer's Class materials, present several Inquirer's Classes (usually three or four per year), communicate with the Session and pastor with information about the Inquirer's Class attendees, assure that class members are provided information on their questions, arrange for guest speakers for the class (e.g., frequently the Elder from the Stewardship Ministry Team will address the class), order supplies for the class, have membership certificates prepared, provide a summary of the background of members that are joining (this goes in the bulletin on the day that the class members become church members), and other activities.
Visitors: Meet and greet visitors to Faith, monitor visitors attendance and interests, and encourage and help all members to greet new visitors.
Special Events: Serve as an outreach coordinator; sponsor, plan, and conduct the annual Easter Egg Hunt; and serve as the Evangelism and Outreach representative at church events.
Materials/Planning: Write letters and update communications to prospective Inquirer's Class members, develop church information materials, print and distribute Evangelism and Outreach materials, plan new outreach events, and supervise and conduct all church Advertising.
